A young 22-year-old basketball player was sentenced on Friday in Mulhouse to four years in prison and imprisoned for the rape of a teenager then aged 15.

This 2.15-meter giant, who arrived at FC Mulhouse basketball after playing for the Espoirs in Orleans, was accused of rape by a young basketball player who was only 15 years old at the time of the facts.

The teenager accused her of having forced her to fellatio and digital penetration. The rape had been corrected with the victim's agreement.

"My client, since this affair, is out of school. She does not work. She did not want to tell this affair to her parents so as not to traumatize them. She tried three times to end her life," denounced the victim's lawyer, Me Alexandra Kennel, saying that she is proud that the girl had the courage to come to the bar.

"I also stopped basketball. I was destined for a promising career. This business stopped me. I went to prison and today it is misery for me," said for his said the young man, who spent 10 months in pre-trial detention.

The president Christine Schlumberger recalled other cases of the same type in which the young semi-professional sportsman had been implicated: a recall to the law for a case of harassment on a schoolgirl, a complaint filed by the father of a another 13-year-old girl whom he had approached too closely, filed without further action, another complaint filed by a 13-year-old minor, for forced oral sex and digital penetration while he was still a minor.

"It is a sexual predator who is in omnipotence," pointed out the public prosecutor, Sandra Di Rosa, requesting a sentence of 5 years of imprisonment with warrant of deposit.

The court imposed a sentence of four years in prison, accompanied by socio-judicial monitoring and the prohibition to exercise an activity in connection with minors.
