Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the Israeli Knesset approved the final second and third readings of the final dissolution of the elections, and went to the third elections in less than a year, on the second of next March.

This came after the end of the last official deadline for forming the government at midnight Wednesday-Thursday and the failure of the parties' efforts to achieve this.

Yesterday, the Knesset approved the first preliminary reading of a bill to dissolve itself and go to new elections.

50 members supported the project to dissolve the twenty-second Knesset without opponents, while 50 members supported the bill to hold elections for the 23rd Knesset, and seven deputies belonging to the Yisrael Beiteinu party (Yisrael Beiteenu) opposed it.

It has now become a reality that seemed almost impossible for many Israelis, and that is to go to the polls for the third time after inconclusive elections last April and September.

Neither the right-wing Likud party led by Netanyahu nor the Blue and White party led by its main rival, former chief of staff Benny Gantz, won a majority, neither of which managed to form the government in the previous two ballots.

And the two were entrusted with the task of forming a coalition government, in a bid that failed, in which they blamed each other for reaching a dead end, when they were unable to agree on the terms of the Prime Minister "alternately".

And the leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, Avigdor Lieberman, blamed the two major parties in Israel - the Likud led by Netanyahu, and a blue-white coalition led by Gantz - fully responsible for the crisis of governance that is afflicting Israel and its leaders in the third elections.

In the previous two polls, Netanyahu's opponents had focused on the three corruption investigations against him, including allegations that he had given advantages to media moguls in order to obtain favorable media coverage.

Netanyahu, the longest-serving leader in Israel, will enter the competition this time in an atmosphere clouded by a criminal indictment, after his accusation of bribery, breach of trust and fraud was announced last month.
