12 December 2019The death toll in a crèche in Capo d'Orlando, in the province of Messina, is four injured. They are attendants and cooks hit by falling rubble from the ceiling. Three were not seriously injured, while a fourth person will need hospitalization; none is found in a way of life.

The children were not involved in the collapse, which occurred in a kitchen area. The incident occurred around 12.30, in the nursery school on Via Lucio Piccolo in the center of Orlandino.

Suddenly part of the kitchen ceiling fell and ended up on the four attendants who were preparing lunch for the children at that time. The wounded were rescued and transported by ambulance to the Sant'Agata di Militello hospital.

Firefighters also intervened to verify the damage. The loud roar was heard by everyone, even frightening the children and teachers who were in another area of ​​the building and who were taken out of school by the officers of the Capo d'Orlando police station shortly afterwards. The deputy prosecutor Federica Urban from the Patti prosecutor's office also visited the site.
