Twelve years old Keivan Gomanian stepped into a gym in Iranian Kurdistan. He got stuck in the strength training, and continued with it in his new home country - Sweden. Now he has been here for 16 years and this weekend he took the World Cup gold in blue-yellow colors at the competitions in Spain.

- This has been my dream, it means everything to me, he says, when we meet him at his workplace Gamlestadsskolan.

There he worked as a janitor for a year and a half. And he gets many assignments that are about lifting things.

- All the teachers want you to constantly move on things. I usually say you have to wait until my colleague comes, I can't lift everything alone, haha!

Gold in the veteran class

This weekend's World Cup competitions were organized by IFBB, International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness in Tarragona, Spain.

There are both junior, senior and veteran class in bodybuilding, and Keivan Gomanian won in the veteran class. The veteran becomes a bodybuilding at age 40, and Keivan is just 40 years old. He won in several individual branches, but also in "overall" - that is, all combined classes.

In addition, Keivan won Gomanian European gold earlier this year.

"Doping is criminal"

Bodybuilding is a sport that has been surrounded by rumors of doping and anabolic steroids, but Keivan's Swedish federation SBFF takes doping tests at competitions, according to the board. And Keivan Gomanian is strongly distancing himself from doping.

- If there are some who are engaged in criminal activities, you cannot count them as bodybuilders. They are criminals and what they do has nothing to do with the bodybuilding world. Me and my colleagues are clean. We love to compete and train, he says.

In addition to Keivan's gold medal, Sweden also took a women's silver in body fitness on the women's side by Ellinor Eriksson, and also took two fourth places.
