Brussels (AFP) The EU Commission has approved planned state subsidies from Germany and six other countries amounting to 3.2 billion euros to build a battery cell manufacturing facility in Europe. As an "important project of common European interest", the plan could be implemented "without undue distortions of competition," said EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager on Monday. In the case of Germany, it is about public aid of up to 1.25 billion euros.
