A 13-year-old girl was accidentally blinded by the joke of her classmate.

On Monday, foreign media including the British Daily Mail introduced the story of a teenage girl living in Manchester.

One day three years ago, a girl standing behind the classroom talking with her friend was stabbed at something that flew by. A classmate threw a pencil in front of the classroom.

I didn't feel the pain of what happened suddenly, but the results were worse than I expected. Pencil lead stuck in my eyes.
The hospital test found two pieces of 6.7mm and 1.6mm pencil lead in her left eye. One of them was stuck in the eye, which turned out to have managed to avoid a crisis that would have resulted in total vision loss by a few milliseconds.

The girl had trouble with her daily life, even after undergoing emergency surgery and removing the pencil lead, because she could not look at the light properly for a while. However, according to the recently released 2019 UK Medical Journal Case Reports, it is now reported to be nearing normal vision recovery.

"I knew my friend told me that my pencil was stuck at that time," she said.
Experts introduced the case and explained that one in every six British children visiting a hospital in an accident with a sharp object has a serious and irreversible consequence. He warned, "Teachers and parents should be aware of how dangerous it is to throw a pencil."
