The residents of the Madrid neighborhood of Hortaleza are concentrating in the Park of Clara Eugenia against the speeches "of hate, racism, fascism" and in rejection of the attack against the first reception center for unaccompanied foreign minors (MENA).

Last Wednesday, they launched a hand grenade inside the juvenile center, which was deactivated by the Tedax.

The neighbors carry banners with the motto "Against racism and hate speech. Hortaleza for living together" . During the rally, a group of minors has left the center and integrated into the protest. Young people have been greeted with cries of "no human being is illegal."

"Neighbors of Hortaleza see how this situation is the result of a dynamic in which the neighborhood has entered this last season. Obviously, behind this there is a lousy political management, but we want to go further," the summoners have stated in a manifesto in which they link these events with "the xenophobic speeches and hate speeches issued by certain political and collective parties of the extreme right."

Along these lines, they have censored that, in order to face the daily problems of the neighborhood, "do not work other ways than the exclusion and criminalization of the kids . "

As part of this manifesto they claim that "all the neighbors are safe" , an 'all' in which they include the minors of the first reception center; that the attack be treated in accordance with the "seriousness of the events" and that means be put in place for investigation; and stress that they repudiate "the actions and demonstrations promoted by racist, xenophobic and fascist parties and organizations," reports Europa Press.

"We will support and defend as many times as necessary human rights, children's rights, the right to migrate and the necessary actions for a dignified and empathic welcome ," argues the call for this concentration.
