A banana affixed to the wall was sold at Art Basel in Florida, US $ 120,000, as artwork. What is the secret behind this imaginary amount?

The surprises do not stop at the Italian artist Mauricio Catellan, as the artist, known for his satirical works, presented a piece entitled "Comedy", which is a banana hanging from a tape on the wall at the "Art Basel" exhibition.

The Italian artist had bought the banana from a Miami store, attached it to the wall, and then sold it as artwork. Another model was exhibited and sold at the "Perotene" exhibition of contemporary artwork in the French capital, Paris.

According to the American Business Insider website, the first model was sold for $ 120,000, and the second model was sold at the same price, while the artist and the exhibition owner decided to sell the third model for $ 150,000.

It is noteworthy that "Art Basel" is a world famous festival that attracts celebrities and art stars looking for new and innovative pieces of art.

The festival is held in three different cities annually: Basel in Switzerland, Miami Beach in Florida in the United States, and Hong Kong in China, according to the website published by "CNBC."
