Emmanuel Macron and Édouard Philippe both gained slightly in popularity (+2 points) in December, with 29% of favorable opinions, according to the Yougov barometer for the Huff Post released Friday.

In a poll conducted just before the mobilization against the pension reform, the President of the Republic loses points with supporters of the left but gains much in the center and right (+18 points from the classical right, 44% of favorable opinions).

The Prime Minister's popularity rating follows that of the Head of State. He loses points with the left but gains 9 points from the extreme right (15% favorable opinions) and 16 points from the moderate right (50% favorable opinions).

With 25% of favorable opinions, the popularity of the government remains almost stable compared to last month (+1 point). Less than a third of French people think that the government "speaks to the whole population, not only to its voters" (32%, +4 points), that it is "composed of competent people" (25%, + 2 points) and that "the society that [he] advocates is globally the one in which [they] wish to live" (25%, +5 points).

Social protection is the main concern of the French (20%, +3 points) to unemployment and employment (17%, +2 points) and immigration (15%, stable). Ecology meanwhile fell by 2 points (10%).

Survey conducted online from 2 to 3 December 2019 among 1,037 representative persons, according to the quota method.
