Russian Foreign Ministry commented on US expansion of anti-Russian sanctions

This is stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry said that "the goal of the initiators of the sanctions is not at all the fight against crime, but the next propaganda attack against Russia."

"Instead of developing normal cooperation, including in law enforcement, some Washington politicians are struggling to denigrate Russia, while continuing to destroy bilateral relations," the statement said.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against a number of citizens and companies from Russia for malicious activity in the cyber sphere.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Chepa in an interview with the FAN commented on this decision by the US Treasury.
