The Portland Trailblazers have decided to retain until the end of the season veteran winger All-Star Carmelo Anthony, hired three weeks ago on the basis of a contract of one year "unsecured".

Unemployed for a year before this spectacular revival that saw him not only integrate the Blazers but also win in the five major, Anthony is rewarded for his efforts and his very good level of play, 35 years.

Portland had the possibility, until January 7, not to keep it and thus not to pay him the wages of the remaining months.

But "Melo" quickly made good performances, even being rewarded with a trophy for best player of the week in the Western Conference, the nose and beard of Luka Doncic, LeBron James or James Harden, yet more impressive in statistical terms over this period.

Enough to convince the Blazers to have made the right choice by engaging the winger-shooter, ten times All-Star, which compiles 16.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in eight games, finished on four wins and as many defeats.

Since taking the Blazers' 00, the Oregon franchise has dropped the depths of the standings to go back to the doors of the top 8 playoffs (9th), before receiving this Friday the Los Angeles Lakers, undisputed leaders of the ranking of the league at the beginning of the season.
