It was just over a year ago that the county board in Gävleborg's eyes turned to Jimmy Nordin's treasure hunt. He had made several discoveries with his metal detector but lacked the proper condition. He was then asked to hand in the findings - which he later did - and it went so far that the police seized his metal detector.

- It's a completely idiotic law. It must be changed immediately, Jimmy Nordin told SVT Gävleborg when the suspicions were discovered.

"They can imprison me for 20 years"

But Prosecutor Arek Nowak walked the line of the county administrative board and this week a lawsuit was submitted to Gävle district court. There, Jimmy Nordin is charged with two cases of cultural environmental crimes.

In a previous interview with SVT Gävleborg, Jimmy Nordin stated that he was ready to sit in prison for 20 years for "metal detector search." It will not be so serious when the prosecutor considers that the penalty for a possible conviction should be fined daily. a total of SEK 4,800.
