As noted, on December 4, the agency accepted an investigation into the murder committed on August 23 in Berlin.

“There is sufficient factual evidence that the murder of K. Tornike was committed either by order of the state authorities of the Russian Federation or of the authorities of the Autonomous Chechen Republic within the Russian Federation,” RIA Novosti reports.

Germany previously announced the expulsion of two employees of the Russian embassy.

As explained by the German Foreign Ministry, by such a move the government reacts to the fact that the Russian authorities "did not cooperate sufficiently in the investigation of the murder in Berlin Tiergarten."

On December 4, the WSJ reported that Germany could impose sanctions on Russia if there is evidence that the killing is related to the Russian authorities.

As the Kremlin emphasized, assumptions about Russia's involvement in contract killings are completely groundless.
