The body of a missing woman since Monday morning was found in a river in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, three kilometers from her car, bringing to six deaths the weekend toll of bad weather in the Southeast, we learned from a source close to the survey.

A sixth victim of the bad weather that hit the south-east of France was found in Saint-Maime Dauphin (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), near Manosque. "She was swept away by the Largue as she was trying to get out of her vehicle," a source close to the investigation told AFP, adding that it was the victim's brother who had found the body.

Twelve dead in one week

Earlier in the day, the gendarmes had found his car and identified his occupant. The investigators of the gendarmerie went on the spot at the beginning of the afternoon. The torrential rains in southeastern France, a week after a Mediterranean episode that had already killed six and one disappeared, have again caused several casualties.

Sunday night, three occupants of a helicopter from the Civil Security who had just taken off Marignane (Bouches-du-Rhone) to help the victims of the Var, were killed in the crash of their device at the gates of Marseille, in the massif of the Nerthe. Two men were also washed away in the Var, Fréjus and Saint-Paul-en-Forêt.
