November 30, 2019The schools and universities of Tehran province remained closed today due to the pollution of the air that has reached alarming levels. The measure for all institutions, initially scheduled only for today, has been extended to tomorrow. The Iranian authorities announced that they have asked the population, especially those at risk, to remain indoors.

Also canceled two important football matches today. In addition to the capital, other major cities such as Karaj, Isfahan, Arak and Mashhad have also begun to be smog-invaded last Wednesday.

Iran's health minister announced that air pollution caused by heavy vehicles, factories and mines, but also by mismanagement, causes the death of nearly 30,000 Iranians a year.
