At Dreamhack Winter which is currently taking place in Jönköping, several different competitions will take place. Players will compete for money in tournaments in computer games such as Counter-Strike, Super Smash Bros and Fortnite.

The Battle Royale game Fortnite became a popular game worldwide in a short period of time and has around 250 million registered players, according to the computer games news site Gamesradar.

So the competition goes on

During Friday, Fortnite players will compete in three different groups, all competition groups being part of the first competition. Then two hundred players advance to a second competition to be played on Saturday, then they will fight over which one hundred players will advance to the grand final held on Sunday.

The player who comes in first place will win almost SEK 300,000. But all the top 100 players will win prize money.

King of the Hill

Fortnite assumes that the last player to survive on a small island wins, a game about becoming a master on the pitch. Weapons and other aids allow one player to kill another or to stay away and avoid being killed.

Now Dreamhack writes history by organizing a tournament in Fortnite with nearly SEK 2.4 million in Jönköping.
