The National Police has dismantled two gangs that allegedly engaged in assaults on banking entities, supermarkets and pharmacies and has arrested six people in Madrid and Segovia, one of them the well-known robber Eduardo Camacho Chacón , who have two homicides in their records .

As reported by the Chief of Police in a statement, those arrested from one of the groups, consisting of four people, were considered "especially violent" and had more than 60 previous detentions.

The group is charged with its alleged participation in the assault on two banks, three supermarkets and a pharmacy in the Madrid districts of Carabanchel, Centro, Ciudad Lineal and Tetuán.

One of its members is "violent bank robber" Eduardo Camacho Chacon, who had been previously arrested and convicted for committing two murders -the a bank employee in Torrevieja (Alicante) and one from a national police in Móstoles ( Madrid) - in the course of two robberies.

Among the detainees is also a brother of Camacho.

The brothers were arrested in the Segovian town of Bernuy de Porreros and the other two in Madrid.

As for the other group, made up of two men, he is credited with allegedly participating in the assault on two banks during the months of August and October, where they almost robbed 200,000 euros , according to the Police.

After identifying them and registering their homes, the agents intervened material related to the commission of the robberies and recovered more than 40,000 euros in cash.

In addition, one of those arrested had three arrest and detention orders issued by different courts.

Both organized groups used firearms.

The investigation into the first band began last June after assaulting two of its members a bank branch using firearms with which they threatened employees.

While these facts were being investigated, those arrested made a new robbery at another bank and the agents found that the "modus operandi" was similar to the other assaults.

The Police could verify that both groups monitored and studied all the activity carried out by the banking entities from the time they opened until they closed.

Subsequently, the alleged authors analyzed the activity of the branches and perpetrated the theft with the technique of "opening", that is, two of the members went to the bank at the time of opening the doors with firearms and Threatened employees.

After taking the money, they fled in a vehicle, in which the other members of the group were waiting for them.
