When Ahmed Mohammed Al Marzouqi, 32, obtained his Bachelor of Human Medicine degree in 2010 as a “general practitioner”, he was impressed by the secrets of the eyes, he completed the road and succeeded in obtaining the “German Board” and the “European Board” in Ophthalmology. He achieved the title of ophthalmologist in 2018 and decided to go deeper into the world of ophthalmology.He is currently pursuing his graduate studies to enhance his scientific and practical career, specializing in retinal medicine and surgery, to obtain a consultant degree in specialization, combining both medical and surgical fields.
Al-Marzouki, who is a scholarship from the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and the Department of Education and Knowledge, to study “fellowship in retinal medicine and surgery” at the Munich Technical University Hospital in Germany, said that the first features of his specialist journey started in the year of excellence, which follows the Bachelor of Medicine degree. During his practical training in the Department of Ophthalmology at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, he was impressed by the modern and advanced methods of examination and treatment used in this field.
He continued: «I decided to take a new experience, and traveled to Munich to specialize in the field of ophthalmology, after passing a training course to learn the German language, in order to identify and work in all sub-disciplines, including corneal medicine and surgery, eye diseases immunology, and the treatment of glaucoma, Cosmetic ophthalmology, pediatric strabismus, ophthalmic tumors, cosmetic eye surgery, etc.
He added: “I succeeded in obtaining two specialized certificates: the German Board and the European Board in Ophthalmology, in addition to the title of Specialist in Ophthalmology. Among these subspecialties I was impressed by the specialization of retinal medicine and surgery, although it is difficult and difficult to obtain admission.
He explained that retinal surgery is complex and accurate, so I consider it a major challenge I look forward to, to be a consultant in the medicine and surgery of the retina.
On the experience of alienation, which Marzouki has had for seven years, he said it is an extraordinary experience that has refined my personality, and made me more mature, and taught me how to rely on self-confidence and confidence and abilities.
As for the challenges he faced in the West, he explained that learning German in all its details was the real beginning, because it was a barrier to effective communication with members of the community, including fellow doctors and patients.

Ahmed Mohammed Al Marzouqi, a young citizen, said that he spends few leisure time reading scientific books in his field of professional specialization, in addition to various cultural books, in order to increase his knowledge.
He added that he loves to visit tourist places in Germany, accompanied by members of his small family accompanying him in the alienation, pointing out his keenness to meet his friends and scholars who are citizens and Gulf, especially in national occasions during which they share their national identity, and contribute to the definition of the other heritage of the UAE, which deserves recognition And respect.
