Chris Martin, the leader of Coldplay, announced Thursday that the British group postponed the tour of his new album that comes out Friday, so that it is as clean as possible and has a carbon neutral balance.

"We will be taking our time, over the next two years, to ensure that our tour is not only environmentally friendly, but also has a positive impact," said the singer in an interview with the BBC.

For "Everyday Life", their eighth album, Chris Martin said he wants this time their new tour has a carbon neutral balance.

"The hardest thing is the plane," conceded the singer, "but our dream would be, for example, to have a tour without plastic at all and powered largely by solar energy."

For his previous album, "A Head Full of Dreams," the group had given 122 concerts worldwide, for more than 500 million dollars (452,000 euros) in revenue.

This time he has decided to give two concerts for the moment, rebroadcast for free on YouTube.

They will play in the Jordanian capital Amman, at sunrise and sunset, to reflect both sides of their new CD, according to the BBC.

Last month, Coldplay had created a surprise by revealing the titles of his new album in the "classifieds" section of a Welsh newspaper.

The group will also give a single concert next Monday at the Museum of Natural History in London, whose proceeds will be donated to an association for environmental protection.
