The minister also said that Malaysia is considering options for cooperation with Russia, including in the space sector.

“We also consider cooperation in various aspects - education, the aerospace industry,” he added.

On November 2, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad announced his intention to abandon the purchase of European aircraft in favor of Russian counterparts amid EU plans to limit palm oil exports from Malaysia.
