This year's online angel is a prize given to people who do something extra in the fight against hate and threats on the internet. Dunkels was awarded the prize on Monday evening at a gala at Nalen in Stockholm.

Motivation of the jury:

Elza Dunkels has probably done more to improve the tone of the web than anyone else. By looking at solutions, without turning a blind eye to the problems, she has been able to explain how the network works. By focusing on the benefits of development, without closing the drawbacks, she has managed to reduce the anxiety many feel. And by backing everything up with research and facts, she is a voice that few can dismiss.

In addition to the title of this year's Nätängel, Dunkels was awarded a price check of SEK 50,000 and a work of art.
