On Tuesday, the health centers opened for vaccination against the flu. Some of those in attendance were Viktor Sjöberg, who has had diabetes for a few years, and heart operated Alice Nilsson-Bibin.

- I get seriously ill and during these weeks my blood sugar becomes very unreliable and volatile, which can be a danger to health, says Viktor Sjöberg.

Reduces the risk of serious illness

Taking a vaccine against the flu does not make you immune, but it reduces the chances of serious illness, according to Anders Enocksson at the Halland Region.

- The course of the disease is getting milder and the pneumonia complications are reduced by 30 to 50 percent. The risk of getting sick can be reduced by 70 percent, says Anders.

Diabetic Viktor Sjöberg and heart operative Alice Nilsson-Bibin, who are both at risk for those who would be hit hardest if they got the flu, received their syringes on Tuesday. See more in the clip above.
