The construction of settlements, from the point of view of the German government, is illegal, has a negative impact on the possibility of the peace process and complicates the search for a solution based on the creation of two states, ”the statement said.
Along with this, the ministry mentioned UN Security Council resolution 2334, which confirms this assessment.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington no longer considers Israel’s construction of settlements on the West Bank as a violation of international law. Israeli authorities welcomed this decision.
