Argentina won their first Davis Cup game in Madrid on Monday against Chile, winning in both singles.

Guido Pella beat Nicolas Jarry in the first match (6-4, 6-3), and Diego Schwartzman dominated Cristian Garin in the second (6-2, 6-2).

The two teams will play the doubles which could prove decisive for the qualification for the quarters in this group C which also includes Germany.

Since this year, the final phase of the Davis Cup brings together 18 separate teams in 6 groups of 3. The top 6 of each group and the 2 best runners-up, divided by the number of sets and games won, qualify for the quarter.
