“As soon as we freeze everything, believe me, this will be supported by the international community ... Any calls to freeze the situation, let alone build some kind of wall, only play into the hands of Russians and those who advocate the lifting of sanctions,” he said in an interview with the publication "Today".

He also believes that the freezing of the conflict will lead to the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions. According to him, in this case, "the Ukrainian question is lost in the international agenda."

Earlier, the former representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group at the talks in Minsk, Roman Bessmertny, proposed turning the territories of Donbass not controlled by Kiev into a “wild field”.

In particular, he proposed the development of a resettlement program for the residents of Donbass and the establishment of relations with the self-proclaimed republics with the help of the guarantor country.
