Hazard station in the country of the tsars: with a goal of Thorgan and two of Eden, the siblings assured Belgium on Saturday the victory against Russia (4-1) and the 1st place of its qualifying group for the Euro -2020.
Dominated in the first period by eye-catching Russians, the visitors were more realistic than their hosts and opened the scoring in the 19th minute, via Thorgan Hazard on a service from his brother.
The latter then increased the score, first in the 33rd minute on a rebound of Romelu Lukaku's head, then in the 40th thanks to a Kevin De Bruyne caviar.
Already well paid at halftime, the Belgians scored a fourth goal in the 72nd minute thanks to Romelu Lukaku. Seven minutes later Georgi Dzhikiya closed the gap for Russia.
Thanks to their 4-1 success in St. Petersburg, the Red Devils maintain a perfect record (27 points in nine games) and can no longer be joined at the top of Group I by Russia, second to six units.
The two teams, already qualified before the kick-off, still have to play a match in these qualifiers: Tuesday, the Belgians will receive Cyprus and the Russians will move to San Marino.
