Dubai Municipality's Health and Safety Department has called on the public to be cautious about rumors of consumer products available for display or trading in Dubai in particular and the UAE in general.
In an explanation issued on the rumors issued on food contact materials, she stressed that these imported and circulating materials in the local market or locally manufactured are subject to control and to verify their compliance with the approved safety standards and requirements, in accordance with the best international standards.
She pointed out that laboratory tests are carried out to verify their safety and free of harmful substances, including the examination of bisphenol or heavy metals.
She pointed out that the municipality follows through the systems of recall and investigation in the system of producers of consumer products that may affect the safety of consumers at the local, regional and international levels and raise awareness on an ongoing basis.
