Biathlete Martin Fourcade reassured himself to start his season by finishing third in the sprint of the Norwegian selections at Sjusjoen in the run of the season back Saturday, won by the German Johannes Kuehn.

The five-time Olympic World Champion, coming out of a failed winter, took third place 18 seconds after the first shot foul. Johannes Kuehn won the sprint (9/10), ahead of the Norwegian Aleksander Fjeld Andersen (8 ", 10/10).

Two other French finish the top 10. Simon Desthieux is in sixth place (27 ", 9/10), Fabien Claude in tenth (38", 7/10).

Norway's Johannes Boe, the outgoing World Cup winner, failed at the foot of the podium, just behind Martin Fourcade (23 ", 9/10).

The tests continue on Sunday, with the mass start.
