Secretary of State for the Interior Laurent Nuñez announced Friday that the authorities had closed drinking establishments, schools and places of worship in fifteen districts in France "struck by political Islamism and communitarianism".

"We are fighting against political Islamism which suggests that the law of God is superior to that of the Republic," argued France 2 Secretary of State, pointing out that this "political Islamism" should not be " confused with Islam ".

He said that in "fifteen neighborhoods", "just under 130 bars (129, according to the ministry) had been closed, 12 places of worship, 4 schools and 9 associations".

The Interior Ministry told AFP that these closures had taken place "since February 2018" and were part of "a comprehensive plan to fight against political Islamism".

Thus, added the ministry, it was also proceeded to "2.5 million of recovery" under the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) and "12.2 million recovery "under the Urssaf (Union for the recovery of social security contributions and family allowances).
