The Left Party's party leader Jonas Sjöstedt believes that it is not possible to punish an abuse and wants to decriminalize drug use to get more people stuck in an addiction to seek help.

There is a desire among all parliamentary politicians from Västerbotten who SVT talked about removing the drugs and the accompanying problems, but here's what they think of Sjöstedt and the Left Party's line about decriminalizing drug use:

Elisabet Björnsdotter Rahm (M)

- I think it's a terrible play, as we know that drug use is something that leads to disaster. We must make a strong mark against the fact that it is not okay to use drugs. We must have stricter penalties and that the police should be given additional resources.

Isak From (S)

- Deeply frivolous and something we don't care about. We need to be able to pick up drugs from the street and we need to capture the concerns. We need to capture those who are in the risk zone earlier through increased collaboration between the actors in society.

Jonas Andersson (SD)

- It is completely unavoidable, to decriminalize drugs is not something I stand for. Drugs are a motor throughout organized crime. A combination of several measures is needed. We must work harder with attitudes and values in the school, more resources for the customs office to prevent entry and more resources are needed for the police.

Helena Lindahl (C)

- We have to dare to look at the law that it is illegal to have drugs in the blood. To see if it can save lives and that more people seek help. But we definitely do not want to legalize the substances, it is important to see the difference between them. One in my vicinity has had problems and it is so that many people feel mentally ill and do not receive help and therefore begin self-medication. From the school side, you need to become better at paying attention to children and young people who are feeling poor.
