The New York Stock Exchange ended in a disorganized Monday as the Dow Jones set a new record in the wake of Boeing and Walgreens' strong growth, while trade questions weighed on the Nasdaq.

The leading Wall Street index gained 0.04% to finish at 27,692.47 points.

He mainly benefited from the 4.55% increase in the Boeing title, which announced Monday to have postponed to January the date when it anticipates the return to the sky for commercial flights of its 737 MAX, grounded since March after two close accidents resulting in 346 deaths.

But the aircraft manufacturer also said he still hopes to receive in December the green light from the US Aviation Regulation Agency (FAA) for use of the aircraft in December, which would allow him to resume delivery aircraft to its customers before the end of the year.

The pharmacy chain Walgreens Boots Alliance, also a member of the Dow Jones, has jumped 5.08%. According to the Bloomberg agency, the investment firm KKR has formally approached Walgreens to propose a debt buyback operation (LBO) allowing it to exit the stock market.

The Nasdaq (-0.13% to 8,464.28 points) and the S & P 500 (-% points) have for their part been slowed by the renewed uncertainty on the negotiations between Washington and Beijing.

"Investors are trying to figure out where exactly we are to the extent that the messages from the White House on the subject are quite disparate," said Art Hogan of National Holdings.

Donald Trump has cooled the optimism of the markets by saying Friday opposed the lifting of all additional tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars worth of Chinese goods. The day before, Beijing said it had agreed with Washington for a "step-by-step" lifting of their mutual tariffs.

Investors are also worried that growing tensions in Hong Kong, which had one of the most violent and chaotic days in five months of mobilization for democratic reforms on Monday, could destabilize trade talks.

Trade was generally limited, with some market participants absent and the bond market closed on Veterans Day.
