Bank representatives have already contacted customers, information about which could have been compromised, and apologized.
“Nothing threatens their information security. Please note that the leak does not contain any data necessary to access the accounts, ”assured VTB.
The bank emphasized that they are taking a number of comprehensive measures to protect against both external and internal fraudulent activities.
“A special closed perimeter has been created that provides the maximum degree of protection for banking systems and internal information,” the financial organization said.
The newspaper Izvestia wrote that on November 7, a VTB depositor database of 5,000 lines was put up for sale on the black market.
Earlier, AlfaStrakhovanie reported that the leak of personal data of customers occurred not from the corporate system, but, possibly, from the partners of the company.
