- We don't think it's been right. They have been behind us, says Marita Larsson.

The staff believes that the decision came without warning and has now filed an appeal with the Administrative Court.

Now the idea is that Säfsgården will become a service house where only the home service will be available. The dementia sites will instead be moved to Granliden in Grängesberg, which upsets Anneli Axelsson in the S-association.

- It should be left in Fredriksberg because those who live in dementia housing have grown up and have all their relatives here. Besides, they have chosen this accommodation because they enjoy it here and we have no stairs at all. It's completely flat here. If they were moved to Grängesberg they would have to stay on the second or third floor, she says.

logistics Problems

She also highlights the difficulties for relatives to move from Fredriksberg to Grängesberg to visit.

- I have talked to a wife of one of those living in dementia and she is not sure how she will even be able to get there. The communication is not so good and she does not even know if there is any taxi.

How would you like it?

- We suggested that one should move to a new department where there are eight places and that already exist at Säfsgården and then expand with three places. Then you do not need to move three or four miles from loved ones.

They are also disappointed with the political response. Anneli Axelsson says they emailed the proposal to several politicians without getting an answer.
