The French pair Herbert / Mahut dominated the world No.1s Cabal / Farah 6-3, 7-5 for their entry into the Masters on Monday in London, starting perfectly the tournament they hope to win for the first time.

Breaked first-round entry and led 2-0, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut then rolled to win the set 6-3 in 34 minutes. Again broke quickly in the second run, the French immediately returned to the score and took the Colombian service to 5-5, winning the match in the wake of the stake in Herbert.

The French, seeded N.7, have played little together this year: they had separated after their success at the Australian Open in January, because Herbert wanted to focus on his career in singles, and found themselves for the US Open, late August.

Recent winners of the Masters 1000 Paris-Bercy and already haloed all four Grand Slam titles, they are aiming for London's first victory in the Masters, one of the few major tennis tournaments that are missing from their common awards. They reached the final in 2018.

Earlier Monday in the same group, Germany's Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies (N.3) beat Dutchman Jean-Julien Rojer and Romanian Horia Tecau (N.6) 7-6 (7-3), 4-6 , 10-6.
