The Fujairah Misdemeanor Court has begun the trial of a Gulf national accused of stealing a vehicle owned by others after being parked in a parking lot in Fujairah.
Asked by the tribunal, the defendant denied the accusation, pointing out that he was a fugitive from a group of people who tracked him for harming him as thieves and continued to flee them until he found his vehicle open with the key inside and used it to escape away from the thieves, and that he tried to resolve the misunderstanding with the vehicle owner.
The defendant pointed out that the victim made a waiver of the lawsuit filed against him and the court decided to postpone the verdict on the accused until next week's hearing.
