Ardavan Khoshnood is a criminologist at Malmö University.

He says that one cannot know exactly what it is because Sweden stands out so well in the statistics.

- But there is speculation. The availability of weapons, for example, is very good and another reason is that in Sweden we have been incredibly naive for a very long time to address this issue.

"There are people who have screamed hoarse for ten, twenty years about the situation without being taken seriously," says Ardavan Khoshnood.

Compare us with Denmark

He also says that our neighbor Denmark has been better at responding to the serious crime than Sweden.

- Denmark is much better and there are a number of things to look at. For example, the privacy law. In Sweden, we have a privacy law that puts sticks in the wheel fairly constantly.

- The Migration Board, the employment services, the social services and the police are not allowed to share certain information with each other. Denmark does not have that problem, which has been much faster in taking various preventive measures. But also stricter laws, such as visitation zones.
