Protests continued in many areas of Lebanon yesterday morning, for the 23rd day in a row with the participation of school and university students, to demand the overthrow of the political class.

In detail, thousands of students were absent from their classes yesterday, for the third consecutive day in all Lebanese regions and demonstrated in front of public utilities and banks, as part of the three-week protest movement in Lebanon to demand the departure of the political class.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the Ministry of Education in Beirut with the participation of a number of professors holding Lebanese flags and demanding jobs for graduates of students, rejecting sectarianism, overthrowing political power, and forming a government of specialists.

Protesters, including students, staged a sit-in in front of a number of public utilities in Mount Lebanon (north, south and east), including social security centers, Ogero, affiliated to the Ministry of Communications, the Car Registration Authority, branches of the Banque du Liban and other banks.

Sources close to the outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, said that if the latter is tasked with forming the new government, he will do so, but in accordance with the controls and vision he puts in place. The name of a new prime minister, whom he does not name, confirming his openness to cooperation with him.

As for Hariri meeting yesterday with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, the sources said that he touched on all issues, including the mandate, composition, form of government and other issues, but the focus was on the need to do something to address the economic and financial situation, which is going through critical and delicate circumstances. Thus, it is not possible to wait until after the commissioning and formation, which will take at least 10 days, while the situation of the country can not wait.
