• Elections: Albert Rivera stands out from the illegalization of the independence parties supported by Cs in the Madrid Assembly
  • Interview. Albert Rivera: "To agree with the PSOE must break in Navarra and Barcelona"

Albert Rivera closed tonight in Barcelona , the birthplace of Citizens, his most difficult election campaign. Before more than 1,500 leaders and militants of Ciutadans, but also before supporters from all over Spain , the leader of Cs encouraged to vote on Sunday "with the head" and "with the heart", not "with the viscera" to get "the comeback »and make the overturn possible.

Rivera asked his team to conjure up to get "the comeback": "I ask you to conjure us to moderate Spain from November 11," he said.

No one in Citizens could foresee six weeks ago, when the elections were called, that the party was going to be 48 hours from the elections on the edge of the abyss. Rivera has seen since then, week after week, how all the polls have drawn a plummet. A landslide first denied in the orange headquarters and then admitted, because they reflected it until their trackings .

Therefore, to trace and contain Vox, who seems to be stealing thousands of voters, Rivera asked the Spanish yesterday to vote "center, freedom, vote moderate, do not vote with hate."

He then promised that if he is president of the Government, he will "take Torra out of the Generalitat ." And it will form a "moderate and brave" government that unites and does not divide the Spaniards.

Tonight's was the most massive and emotional meeting of Cs. Rivera reminded his parents, present, and many of his fellow adventurers 13 years ago, that Cs was born against nationalism, but also against polls, when everyone told him that "you can't." Then, all the polls gave him "zero seats" in the Parliament and "we took first three, then jump to nine, to 25 and then to 36".

"Is anyone going to stop us by telling us that you can't?" He assured the attendees, who responded with the "Yes you can!" That has been heard many days at Citizens' meetings.

Rivera promised at the Palacio de Congresos de Catalunya - which on Monday hosted the Princess of Girona Awards - that if he rules, "Barcelona will once again be the standard of freedom and coexistence."

Rising trend in recent days

The management of Cs believes that the orange formation is going back in the last days of the campaign. They calculate that they are already exceeding an intention to vote of 11%, with an upward trend. Of course, and this is the most dangerous, they can continue in the fifth position, below PSOE, PP, Podemos and Vox. That fifth place in many provinces could condemn them to a bleeding of more than 40 seats because of the provincial constituency and the D'Hont Law .

Even so, no one in Cs gives papule to a result as catastrophic as that. The goal is now to approach or reach 32 deputies - the CIS gave them from 27 to 35 -. Those 32 deputies are the national historical land of Cs that reached in the 2016 elections with 13.06% (3,142,000 votes).

As Rivera himself explains, the key to Cs is that participation rise above 70%. A high abstention, on the contrary, would benefit Vox and the PP.
