The young citizen Shama Salah Al-Attar (19 years) decided to study «International Development» in the first stages of university, in order to achieve her dream of working in the diplomatic corps.

Attar, a second-year student at King's College London, said international development is about "improving the quality of life, building intercultural understanding, achieving global citizenship, civic engagement and leadership in a global context."

Al-Attar, who was dispatched to the UK by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said her volunteer experiences in humanitarian initiatives started early with volunteer campaigns, leading to a visit to the Emirati-Jordanian camp in Marjeb Al-Fahoud in Jordan. Al Attar had the opportunity to participate in the founding of the “We are all present” volunteer team, which aims to serve the community and develop the spirit of philanthropy, as the youngest administrative founder in the team. Al-Attar is keen to participate actively in the various events organized by the UAE Embassy in London and the World Youth Council.

She added that she was keen to learn the Korean language, with a view to identifying a new culture that would enhance her awareness and enable her to build new relationships that would add to her future career in the diplomatic community.
