WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had met with senior officials from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia in Washington to resolve a dispute between the three countries over the "Renaissance Dam".

"I just met at the White House with senior officials from Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to help resolve the dispute over the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam, one of the largest dams currently under construction in the world," Trump wrote in a tweet on his Twitter account.

He added: "The meeting was fine, and discussions will continue throughout the day."

Trump accompanied his tweet with a photo of the three foreign ministers, as well as US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin, and Trump's son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Guido Andargashio and Sudanese Foreign Minister Asma Abdallah, representatives of the three countries.

Washington has called a meeting to discuss the Renaissance Dam and break the deadlock.
