In October, bankruptcies in Stockholm County increased by 19 percent compared to the same month last year, figures show that the credit reporting company Syna has compiled.

During the first ten months of the year, bankruptcies in the county increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2018, which according to Syna is a sign of a recession.

Consumption

It is mainly the retail and construction industries that are affected. But there were also the largest companies in terms of turnover. In October, travel company Thomas Cook Northern with 632 employees died. The company had sales of just over SEK 12 million.

Between the years 2015 - 2019, the number of companies that went bankrupt in the Stockholm region has increased by almost 40 percent.
