Qatari museums have unveiled the famous “Ijazah” work by American artist Brian Donnelly known as “Kaos” for the first time in the Middle East.

The work takes the form of a huge, air-blown figure in front of a sail-bearing point on Doha's Corniche, and emulates the famous "companion" character created by Kaos.

This is a huge size, with a length of forty meters, and the artist tries to remind the transients of the importance of relaxation in an increasingly loud and noisy world. This is similar to the rest of the work of Kaos, where he hangs on humanity in a playful spirit that is not without intelligence and indifference at the same time.

Rafiq's simulated "Ijaz" character first appeared in the late 1990s, has its own eyes, which are obscured by the "X" in English, and since its inception has become a symbol of accepting and rejecting the principles that govern today's consumer society.

Doha is the newest international destination for this touring work. It has already been exhibited in some of the world's most iconic cultural attractions, including Sookcheon Lake in Seoul, South Korea and Mount Fuji, Japan.
