MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian military convoy was hit by an armed attack in northeastern Syria, causing no casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation in Syria said on Sunday.

A spokesman for the Russian reconciliation center that the US convoy came under fire from an area controlled by the Syrian National Army of the opposition and allied with Turkey.

He added that the incident occurred while the convoy was moving towards the Syrian-Iraqi border, and that the attack occurred on a road six kilometers west of the town of Tal Tamr in the countryside of Hasaka.

Earlier, a source in the Kurdish People's Protection Units told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that the largest US convoy, consisting of 150 vehicles, left its bases in the areas of Ain al-Arab (Kobani) and Sreen in Aleppo eastern countryside and Ain Issa in the northern countryside of Raqqa, towards the city of Qamishli, including To the Iraqi border.

On the other hand, a source close to the Syrian regime forces said that these forces deployed along the international road between Aleppo and Qamishli, and managed to achieve communication between the governorates of Raqqa and Hasaka to secure a road supply.
