Saudi Arabia's Public Prosecution has ordered a public criminal case against a father who taunted his 7-year-old son and appeared in a video showing signs of family abuse and physical beating by his father.

This came on the basis of what was filed by the Monitoring Unit in the Public Prosecution regarding the circulation of a video clip on social media including the appearance of a child of an Arab nationality in one of the regions of the Kingdom and reported that he was subjected to violence and abuse by his father, as well as the presence of bruises and injuries Quality in the child's front and one eye due to physical violence.

In the video, the child revealed his father's name and nationality, smiling innocently, saying that his father beat him for "zalat," the money.

The general criminal action will be initiated in accordance with Article (17) of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the commencement of the inference procedures in accordance with Articles (24/27/28) of the same Law, after verifying the validity of the section and including what is required to exercise jurisdiction, and completing the legal procedures against the offender; The concerned authorities in this regard.

The Public Prosecution affirmed the criminalization of the laws in force that could harm or abuse children and that those who commit such acts would be subject to deterrent in accordance with the relevant regulations and instructions.
