Rada appealed to the United States with a request about the "Azov" regiment

“People’s deputies of Ukraine called on the chairman of the Committee (on foreign affairs of the US House of Representatives) Eliot Engel and all involved officials of the United States to show restraint and impartiality in this matter and conduct a more thorough investigation before making any decision,” the statement said.

The letter said that American congressmen called Azov a terrorist organization based on unverified facts.

It is also indicated that since January 2015, Azov has been the official structure of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Earlier, 40 congressmen, led by Democrat Max Rose, demanded that the US State Department explain why Azov is not on the list of "foreign terrorist organizations."
