31 October 2019Lufthansa would be ready to invest 200 million euros in the New Alitalia. Reuters reports quoting a source close to the file. For a few hours the German carrier would have sent a letter of formal interest to Fs and the Mise. Delta finotra confirmed its intention to invest 100 million, equal to about 10% of the new Newco, while the CEO of Fs, Gianfranco Battisti, could fly to Frankfurt to meet Lufthansa's president, Carsten Spohr, according to other sources.

Ferpress writes that the return of the German airline to the game for the New Alitalia took place after some preliminary meetings reserved by the Sherpas. Fs, who leads the consortium for the Newco, would be about to receive the proposals of the Germans, willing to participate "with 150 million against the 100 of the Americans downstream of a now probable breach of the negotiation with Delta". At the moment, we still read, "participation in the meeting of Atlantia representatives is not certain".

Patuanelli: we are working on relaunching
Alitalia needs "a revival and not a mere rescue", declared the Minister of Economic Development, Stefano Patuanelli, in Agora on Raitre. "The air transport sector continues to show growth and profitability for all companies," he explains. For Patuanelli "it is paradoxical that our company will not be able to re-launch itself in this market. I believe that there are conditions for this to happen, there are interlocutions in progress. The consortium has until November 21st to present the offer to purchase and the partner choice. We follow carefully through the commissioners ".
