UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received Swiss President Uli Maurer and his accompanying delegation yesterday.
Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the guest, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and noted the importance of developing friendly relations and cooperation between the UAE and the Swiss Confederation at various levels for the benefit of their people and their common national interests.
Speaking with Olli Maurer, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the Swiss support and his country's early vote in favor of hosting Dubai Expo 2020, stressing that «this global event has a continuous follow-up, and the constant guidance of the leadership of the UAE, President and Government And institutions, to show the most beautiful humanitarian, cultural and international tourist image here on the UAE and in the city of Dubai ».
For his part, the President of the Swiss Confederation expressed his happiness to participate in an important pavilion at «Expo 2020 Dubai», pointing out that he will participate - during his visit to the State - with a large Swiss economic delegation, representing the public and private sectors, in laying the foundation stone for the Swiss Pavilion site « Expo »in Dubai.
The meeting dealt with ways of enhancing cooperation relations between institutions in the UAE and Switzerland, especially in the financial and business sector.
During his meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the international and regional developments, he commended the wisdom of the UAE leadership and its balanced policy, which supports peace and stability in the region and the world.
