On Thursday, Södertälje Hospital announced that it is moving towards a negative result and that it lacks SEK 50 million in the budget for next year.

- The situation is clearly challenging. It is now more important than ever to stay together and find the solutions together across the business boundaries, to continue the implementation of our main strategies; develop the hospital-wide healthcare processes, increase outpatient clinics, digitize, expand home health care and increase collaboration with primary care and municipalities. Otherwise, it will be difficult to do the job, says hospital CEO Christophe Pedroletti in a press release.

Stop for hiring staff

Together with Danderyds Hospital and Södersjukhuset, which is also financially tough, Södertälje Hospital is therefore launching a savings package with measures in three areas. In addition to stops for hiring staff and stopping for remuneration in addition to the existing collective agreements, the previous term of employment also extends to nurses and under-nurses.

- What's new is now a dispensing procedure for nurses and under-nurses as well. The same goes for hiring staff, where we already have a routine for dispensing procedures. The goal is for the measures to be implemented while maintaining quality, patient safety and the working environment, says Christophe Pedroletti in the press release.

The dispensing procedure means that approval from the CEO is required to depart from the savings package.
