“Due to the spraying of a gas spray in a state of varying severity with a diagnosis of“ toxic effect of an unknown substance ”, 13 people were hospitalized in the medical institutions of the city of Lviv - 12 children and 1 adult,” the Lviv regional state administration reported.

The press service of the National Police of the Lviv region said that doctors turned to law enforcement officers.

“One of the students, a resident of the hostel, went into the room of her friend, the same student, to pick up her battery charger. In the room she saw a spray can of bright color, decided that it was perfume and sprayed its contents, ”the police said.

As stated in the department, "in fact, the spray contained annoying gas, Pepper-4."

“As the owner explained, he purchased the can several days ago via the Internet,” the police added.

All circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

Earlier it was reported that nine children were hospitalized after spraying gas from a spray can in a Chernihiv school.
