Sergeant Summer Gloeckner of the Police of Santa Rosa, a town near San Francisco, told the Press Democrat newspaper that "there does not appear to be a shooter still active", but there is a student injured during the shooting. The boy, wounded in the abdomen, was recovered and transferred to the hospital where he was subjected to the appropriate care, but no further details on his condition were released. Sergeant Gloeckner says the attack occurred this morning on the campus of the Ridgway High School in Santa Rosa, about 55 miles (89 kilometers) north of San Francisco. Officials closed the school, nearby Santa Rosa High School and Santa Rosa Junior College.The SWAT team of the city also went to the site to search the campus and a drone was also used in the research. There are witnesses to the shooting, apparently taking place in the front of the educational institution shortly after the start of classes. Police were called at 8:56 local time, Sergeant Gloeckner said. Police officers have secured a place where parents of school students could gather in peace with their children. The area hosts the largest concentration of school campuses in the city, which covers about 170 acres and serves thousands of high school and college students. According to information gathered from the testimonies, it is a single person who appears to have a gun in a backpack. Police believe it was a Hispanic wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, acid-washed jeans, short hair and wearing a black Jansport backpack. It has also been described as being in a late middle age group of adolescents.
